I believe that walking in the mountains is the best way to teach you that everything comes to an end. This is a very important lesson to teach our unconscious mind that even when it is hard, it has an end, and the better will come. Also consciously realising that it is temporary to be in your discomfort: too hot, too cold, you got tired, the mountain top is too far, and you’ve been climbing for hours. And it will all pass as well. You KNOW that in a few hours, you will come down, have a warm, soothing cup of tea, and be wrapped in your comfort again.
As in real everyday life, sometimes we get overwhelmed by realising how much is on our plate and usually get anxious by not being able to change everything quickly enough or by not knowing the right answer. However, by just taking one step at a time, just being in a moment, in a second, in an eye blink, you can realise that in the here and now, nothing is happening. You can always find comfort, peace, tranquillity, and satisfaction if you just manage your mind to stop spinning and projecting all the possibilities of “what if…”, and shift your focus from negativity or what’s difficult or not right.
It is not difficult to make one step, so don’t get overwhelmed by the whole scale of the situation; try to enjoy this one moment, and when you are ready, make another step. Life is a journey; teach yourself to enjoy it.
